Ugyan semmi különös nem történt, de azért írok, hogy úgy tegyek, mintha valami fontosat csinálnék és ezáltal önkényesen felmentsem magam a tanulás alól egy félórára. Épp itt vannak a Dorci nemzetközi (kolumbiai, hongkongi, spanyol, ja nem, bocs, katalán) osztálytársai és főzőcskéznek. Én meg nekikezdtem a vizsgaesszé-írásnak, de jelenleg a hátam közepére se kívánom. Hétfőn véglegesítettem a disszertációm címét (Jewish Armed Self-Defense in Eastern Europe between the Odesssa Pogrom and World War One) és leadtam a címbejelentést. Ezen kívül megleptem magam pár oxfordos ajándéktárggyal és rendeltem egy halom könyvet is (abebooks rulez!). Haladok a jelentkezésekkel is, bár szívem szerint itt maradnék, Amerika nem vonz annyira, csak hát az amcsiknak temérdek pénzük van (az angoloknak is, csak nem osztogatják olyan bőkezűen a PhD-seknek). Na, hát ez a helyzet ma.

Éljek!

Rövid kényszerpihenő után ismét írok kicsit, nem mintha olyan sok érdekesség történt volna, csak a rend kedvéért. Ha minden jól megy, hétvégén túlleszek minden évközbeni (a tanításnak egy hete vége) esszémen, és végre nekiállhatok a négy vizsgaesszének...juhúúúú!!! Még hátra van az utolsó muszlim-zsidós órámra egy esszé befejezése és egy 14 oldalas holokauszt-esszé (tegnap tudtam le a laza 800 oldalas olvasmánylista utolsó morzsáit). Ezenközben persze el kellett kezdenem a jelentkezéseket Amerikába, ma küldtem el az elsőt (Chicago), és egy hónapon belül további 3-4 következik, aztán Oxford jan. közepén. Ezen felül nem sok történés volt, ami még említésre méltó, hogy kaptam munkát az itteni könyvtárban, rosszabbkor nem is jöhetett volna, mint az esszéim kellős közepén, de a pénz jól fog jönni. Vasárnap 13:30-17:30 közt kell ott ülnöm, címkéznem, feltenni a könyveket a polcra és intézni a kölcsönzést. Első alkalommal három órán keresztül dolgoztam megállás nélkül, de másodszorra csak mintegy 40 percet, és utána sem volt semmi dolgom (a vasárnap nem túl frekventált, hál’istennek). A jövő harmadévben sokkal kevesebb dolgom lesz (és sokkal több időm blogolni), de majd’ minden nap lesz első órám (9-től vagy n10-től), néha bent Oxfordban, ami azt jelenti, hogy a 8-as buszt kell elérnem, tehát gyökeresen változtatnom kell a bioritmusomon (már ami maradt belőle). Ma kellett leadnom a szakdolgozatom címét, ha minden jól megy a cári Oroszországban jelen lévő zsidó fegyveres ellenállásról fogok írni, a PhD-témámban pedig ezt kombinálom a Palesztínaival (tehát ügyesen kihasználok jó néhány nyelvet: héber, orosz, jiddis, arab). Most már kicsit felszabadultam, bár alig várom, hogy végre eljöjjön az a pár nap/hét, amikor nincs semmi dolgom (ez persze relatív, a szakdogámhoz el kell kezdeni olvasni). A karácsonyt még itt töltjük, aztán megyünk Londonba pár napra és 28-án repülünk haza, egy hetet maradunk (jan. 4-ig). Na, további mindenjót, jelentkezek még...valamikor.
